Our hotel history

In the year 1969 Heinrich (former farmer and football player with Allemannia Aachen/Oberliga) and Marianna Willms (visited hotel management school) bought the "Pension Walter". The two had been thrilled because of the pension's location - ideal for their vision. The good-bye from the homeland Eschweiler/Dürwiss (Germany, North Rhine-Westfalia) was especially hard for "Aka" Willms - but soon, many guests from Germany followed, which spent their summer- and winter holidays in Tyrol. What is best - the high number of regular guests still remains - from the very first day until today!

and so it happened...

in year 1969 Takeover of the Pension Walter with 12 rooms (approx. 25 beds)
in year 1972 Rebuilding - various room enlargements
in year 1973 Opening of the restaurant "Kaminstube"
in year 1974 Extension of the hotel to about 60 beds
in year 1985 The heated outdoor swimming pool was opened
in year 1988 Ttearing down of the hotel apart from parts at the ground floor new building of today's hotel
in year 1989 Reconstruction of the current operation with various alterations (small sauna area) - extension to about 75 beds
in year 1993/1994 Enlargement and redesign - breakfast room
in year 1998 Handing over of the hotel to the sons Ralf and Stefan
in year 2002 The new hotel bar is opened "Vogelkiste"
in year 2003 Redesign of the old sauna area into a new (80 m²) with Finn Crystal sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin, fresh water whirlpool und relaxing room.
in year 2009 Renovation of the guest garden with a new large-area canopy and awnings for closing and opening.

How does an "Aachener" end up in Kirchberg in Tyrol?

Aka and Janny Willms had to answer this particular questions many times.

The story behind this question is interesting and funny at the same time - thus, it's hardly possible to write it down... just let it be told in person!

We looking forward to your visit!
